Evaluation of Open Source software for testing performance of Web applications

The evaluation of Open Source software for testing performance in Web applica-tions is accomplished. In order to achieve the objective, the research model was followed: literature review, strategy, methods to generate data and the analysis of the data. This study was conducted based on measures of the ISO/IEC 25023 standard, and the software test process proposed by ISTQB. Regarding the soft-ware evaluation, it was done considering the characteristics described by their of-ficial developers and experimentation. The tool that obtained the best results was JMeter, and it is applied to a case study. This evaluation allowed to know the per-formance measures of a real web application
