Critical Success Factors for Corporate Data Quality Management
Currently data is often considered as the most vital asset of the organizations, needing to have quality, in order to properly sustain competitive advantage, supporting the operational and decision support systems. The data quality management subject, although being studied for a long time, is still relatively poorly understood. The identification and ranking of the critical success factors (CSFs) for data quality management is still understudied, although being very significant for organizations that intend to implement an adequate management of data quality. This work is an exploratory study on that subject, having identified and ordered 19 CSFs, through a qualitative research methodology, using a focus group, followed by a Delphi study. The results show that the top three factors are Data Governance (outstandingly), Management Commitment and Leadership and Continuous Data Quality Management Improvement.
