Introducing Adaptive E-business Continuity Management

Our research work is focused on improvements in establishing effective business continuity management in organizations that use modern technologies of e-business: Internet, mobile computing, electronic services, virtual infrastructure, etc. Paper introduces new concept of e-business continuity management (e-BCM) within existing scientific field of business continuity management (BCM) and defines comprehensive model for adaptive e-BCM, which is adjustable to changes in the business environment of the organization. The proposed model is result of our theoretical and practical work in the last four years, including model implementation in three financial organizations of various sizes. Model defines a general framework for establishment and continuous improvement of e-BCM and includes methods for defining the most important components of business continuity management system: business impact analysis, business continuity risk assessment and business continuity plan. Results may have broad practical application in an arbitrary organization that uses modern technologies of e-business.
