How the new approaches of cloud computer vision can contribute to the appearance of assistive technologies to the visually impaired in the coming years?

This work brings to light an important discussion about how to create better assistive technologies to people who is visual impaired from the new advances in the field of computer vision. Until very recently, assistive technology solutions required large and expensive hardware, as well as complex software. But the scene seems to be changing with web services on the cloud making available computer vision features, offering content analysis of images and videos. The challenges seem to be much more of how the results of these analyzes will be processed and after which will be the action or interaction delivered, showing the importance of proper user interfaces to the visually impaired.
