Knowledge Management Systems and Intellectual Capital Measurement in Portuguese Organizations: A Case Study

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of an exploratory study concerning the use of knowledge management systems (KMS) in Portuguese organizations as well as the intellectual capital (IC) measurement. The study was based on a survey sent to one hundred of the main Portuguese organizations, in order to know the current practices of the Portuguese organizations relating KMS usage and IC measurement. Specifically, we tried to understand with this study, what KMS are used to support KM processes and what metrics are pointed by organizations to measure their knowledge assets
