Constructing Conceptual Model for Security Culture in Information Systems

Abstract:
Security of information systems (IS) depends on many factors, and numerous technical advances cannot always create a safe and secure environment alone. Unfortunately, security incidents continue to increase by human factors such as lacking of security culture in IS. This study attempts to provide a conceptual model that assist implement of security culture in IS. Qualitative content analysis on existing approaches was used to shows the importance of the security culture in IS security and also secondary data resources are used to identify the important factors for security culture of IS’ users. The results from this research can provide some guidance and insights to both researchers and security professionals in the IS.
