Plataformas virtuales que reconocen estilos de aprendizaje y permiten el despliegue de metodología Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas -ABP-

This article shows the results of a research project developed by the University of Medellín in conjunction with the company Kuepa, Colciencias and the Government of Antioquia. In the project, new functionalities are added to a virtual Learning platform to allow the detection of student learning styles, and the configuration of courses under ABP (Problem Based Learning) methodology. To achieve this, artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are used. In the development of the article it is shown that the model used to determine learning styles is that of Kolb, an input to train a SOM (Self-Organizing Maps) neural network. Thus, the assignment of problems and material is customized according to the characteristics of the student. The modules that make up the platform and the structure of the built-in neural network are shown to provide intelligence to the system.
