Video content has become a frequent means of communication on the web and are generated and consumed any time through websites. Therefore, a study to determine what guidelines designers should follow to create an efficient design of these websites is necessary. In this case, usability study helps to provide the best experience to the users on the web. This paper presents a comparative study of the Nielsen’s heuristic evaluation of five user interfaces with video content (Netflix, VideoBrasil Platform, [email protected], Vimeo and YouTube) in order to find suitable guidelines and recommendations for the user interface design. Discusses the outcome of this comparison and finally proposed some guidelines to create an efficient video content user interface according to the usability approach.
